New CCTACHF Executive Director - 12/4/03
Governor Rowland has just announced that Jennifer Aniskovich of Branford
will replace Doug Evans (whose last day in office is tomorrow) as executive
director of the Connecticut Commission on Arts, Tourism, Culture History and
Film. The Governor's press release is attached below.

This is very good news for the heritage community. Jen's background is
primarily in the arts (she was a well-respected member of the old Commission
on the Arts and more recently a member of CCATCHF itself where she chaired
the Arts Committee), but she takes the larger view and will, I think, be
very responsive to our concerns. She's very bright, independent, articulate,
has enormous energy and clearly wants the new commission to succeed in
representing the broad needs of the state's cultural community. Given the
fact that the state budget is again in deficit and additional cut-backs are
rumored for the state's cultural players in the upcoming session, this
appointment, both in timing and in occupant, is a very positive development.
We'll need good leadership in the months ahead and I think we have it.
