Elizabeth G. ShapiroExecutive Director Elizabeth Shapiro has been the executive director of The Sharon Historical Society for sixteen years, and has worked concurrently as a consultant to nonprofit organizations in the areas of governance and strategic planning. Previously, Liz worked in various capacities at The Museums and Gallery at Babson College; The Historical Society of Pennsylvania; and The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. She is a president emeritus of The Connecticut League of History Organizations and currently serves as a board member for several organizations, including The Historic Sharon Burying Ground, Inc. and The Northwest Corner Fund. Liz attended Haverford College and later received a Master’s degree from the Cooperstown Graduate Program. Liz has also been a Peer Advisor for the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism since 2007.
