Executive Director at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center since 1998, Katherine Kane is responsible for institutional transformation through implementing the Center’s mission to use Stowe’s life and work to inspire positive change.  Previously, Katherine was Director of the Collections Services and Access Division at the Colorado Historical Society and Special Projects Director at the Denver Art Museum.  She has a B.A. from the University of Denver, an M.A. in anthropology from the University of Colorado and participated in the Getty Trust’s Museum Management Institute.  She is on the Connecticut Humanities Council board, has been an officer of the American Association for State and Local History, a member of the American Association of Museums Accreditation Commission, and is involved with several Hartford community organizations.
