Catherine Keene Fields has been director of the Litchfield Historical Society since 1987.  Previously, she was Director of the Passaic County Historical Society in Paterson, NJ.  Cathy holds a BA from the College of William and Mary, a MA in Cultural History/Museum Administration from the University of Vermont, and she attended the Seminar for Historical Administration.  In Litchfield, she guided the historical society through accreditation by the American Association of Museums (AAM) and directed the renovation and re-interpretation of the Tapping Reeve House.  Cathy has served on the National Advisory Council of the Reynolda House Museum, the boards of the Connecticut Humanities Council and the Connecticut League of History Organizations, and on committees for AAM, the American Association for State and Local History, and the New England Museum Association.
