AASLH Board Development 101 Webinar
Connecticut Humanities Council
Middletown, CT
February 8 and 15, 2011
2:00-4:00 pm
Cost: $15 per person

Sick of doing Webinars on your own? The Connecticut Humanities Council and the Connecticut League of History Organizations invite you to participate in the upcoming AASLH Board Development 101 Webinar on February 8 and 15, 2011. Join colleagues from across the state to view the Webinar, ask questions, brainstorm answers, and participate in a post-Webinar 30-minute discussion about the day's content.

Board Development 101 is the newest webinar developed by the American Association for State and Local History, in partnership with Learning Times, designed to provide training to the staff (volunteer and paid) and board members of museums and history organizations.

A good board is essential to establishing a well-managed organization; and a well-managed organization has a strong board that understands its role, its responsibilities, and its relationship to the organization's director and other staff members. This workshop is intended to provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to develop an outstanding board for your organization. The two sessions will cover:

Session I: Get Set - They are out there! Finding Good Board Members, Building Strong Boards
Session II: Go - Now what? Day-to-Day and Long-Term Board Operations to Ensure Success

Seating is limited to 15 total participants (no more than 1 participant per institution please), so reserve your seat today! Participants must commit to attend both sessions.

Contact Melissa Diaz for reservations: melissa@ctculture.org or 860-685-7583.

For more information on the workshop's content and objectives, visit: http://aaslh.org/BoardDevelopment.htm.

Presented by the Connecticut Humanities Council and the Connecticut League of History Organizations.
