Seminars in the Professions is a series of innovative, round-table discussions that use literary works to illuminate the complex social and moral issues that professionals face in their public and private lives.

The Humanities Council currently offers programs for:

• The medical community in partnerships with major medical facilities including Bridgeport Hospital and the University of Connecticut Health Center.

• Lawyers and judges in partnership with the Connecticut Bar Association.

• Philanthropy professionals in partnership with the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy.

The seminars invite participants to share experiences about work and daily practice in a congenial, engaging atmosphere. The topics are current, practical, and vitally important in the social, legal, economic and cultural context of professional practice and contemporary society.
